James 5:14-15 is the passage to read when you want something to do rather than something to feel, because it gives a congregation clear instructions. Handle Isaiah 53:5 carefully in a card. It is a profound verse, and it is also debated, so it can land as a promise the reader has not been given.
A moment to reflect
Anyone who has prayed for healing and not received it knows the hard edge of this topic. Scripture does not smooth it over. Paul asked three times and kept his thorn. Timothy was told to take wine for a recurring stomach complaint. The Bible holds two things at once without apology: God heals, and not every sickness is healed now. If you are praying for someone today, Psalm 41:3 may serve you better than a promise verse. It does not guarantee the outcome. It puts God at the bedside.
